🥩 Classic Meatloaf
A staple of American home cooking since the early 20th century, especially popular across the Midwest.
🛒 Ingredients

2 lbs ground beef (80/20)

1 cup breadcrumbs

2 eggs
-
1 small onion, finely chopped
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
½ cup milk
-
⅓ cup ketchup
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ tsp black pepper
Glaze:

½ cup ketchup
-
2 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tsp mustard

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion, garlic, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently (don’t overwork).

Shape into a loaf and place in a baking dish or loaf pan.

Make glaze: Stir together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Spread over the top.

Bake for 55–70 minutes, until internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Rest 10 minutes before slicing.
